Thank you for posting this. Buying a food saver was on my new year list. Any suggestions on how many canisters I should buy to start food prep? Any tips or suggestions on the food saver system would be appreciated.

Since Foodsaver is the subject, has anyone found hours after 'successfully' sealing a dry food item the vacuum is somehow lost? I have found this happen about 10-15% of the time. For example I sealed some northern beans still in bag and got a successful seal. About an hour later I went to go store everything I had sealed and the vacuum was lost on the beans. Anyone else have this happening? I don't see a reason for it, the seals are still in place.
